Eighth place in the World Championship for Diego Rosa
05/09/2011
In the first most important appointment of the season, the Giant Italia Team has hit a great 8th place with the Under23 Diego Rosa.
In Champery was held last week the World Cross Country Championships 2011.
At the start the Giant Italia Team was represented by Ivan Alvarez Gutierrez, Edoardo Bonetto and Diego Rosa, and the latter scored an excellent performance, as he stated at the end of the race, I was able to find the right feeling with the Giant XtC Advanced SL. I took the launch in second place, but I had some technical problems on the wet track in mid-race. The race was a bit longer than expected, but I gritted my teeth. The work pays off, I have always said and I think I proved in Switzerland.
The teammate of Rose, Edoardo Bonetto, was able to express well, finishing in 18th place, despite starting with Number 100.
I did the first lap to recover all useful positions. I felt good, my leg rode on the bike and I was able to remount till 18th position. I must admit that the route of Champéry has bewitched me, I think it’s the most beautiful and technical on which I have ventured so far.
Just two days after the World Championship, the Giant Italia Team is then “landed” in Clavière to compete the Clavierissima.
Rosa was able to hit the second place, We travelled all night long, nevertheless with just two hours of sleep I said my piece, also in this race. The track has held up well despite the rain, I’m really satisfied. Next week in Val di Fassa, I think I will be able to express myself again at high levels.
Remember that in the same race, Giacomo Antonello ended his performance at the 6th place overall (2nd Under23 behind teammate Diego Rosa, while the third Under23 was Denny Lupato).
Following an accident in the race, Pietro Sarai suffered the dislocation of the shoulder. The Giant Italia Team wishes him a speedy recovery.
